The female impersonator actor, "Devine" did it for a lot less than that for John Waters film, "Pink Flamingos. You may remember Devine from such classics as "Lust in the Dust" and as Ricky Lake's mother in "Hairspray." He also played the mean record store owner.
Hollywood legend but completely true. On screen, the shot would have been very difficult to fake. The camera folllowed the dog down the sidewalk until is stopped and squatted, leaving a fresh, steamy loaf. Without cutting away, the camera captures Devine crawling on screen to eat it up. This was sometime in the 60's, long before any special effects could have fooled the viewer.
