I think the reason for more cancer these days is the meat industry is putting more hormones in the animals to help them reproduce faster and then pumping them with steroids to make them grow faster. Then some places treat teh meat with radiation so it will have a longer shelf life. The food we eat, America has so much processed and perserved food. In the olden days people had their own garden, they would pick it, wash it, and have it for dinner. Today we have so much canned goods that have artifical sweeteners, and acrylamide, also alot of the garden items are sprayed with so many chemical and are planted in bad soil, etc. Also alot of people are using anti-aging products these days not realizing that many of them have formaldehyde in them, it is also found in a lot of tanning products, too. They name it something else though. It has also been noted that Americans diet is changing for the worst we have more obesed people and we have to work so much to make it these days that there is no time for excerise. Also with technology and the use of cell phones and all that there is higher radiation going on. And we have more magnetic fields. Aersol cans, companies draining things in our water systems, the use of chemical at the water plants. There are many reason. And there is always genetics.

I truly think that is a combination of our lifestyles and modern medical technology. First of all, with all the new equipment and diagnostic tests that medical professionals are able to administer, they are better able to catch the disease. In the past, I am sure that in the past, many poeple's earliest sympotms just sort of slipped under the radar as something slightly abnormal or even nothing at all, just becasue technoloogy was as advanced as it is now. As a result they were sent off, not knowing that what they had was in fact a matter for concern.

Also, about our lifestyles...my research tends to focus on the brain area, so that is where my commment is going to focus. The evidence as to whether or not cell phone radtiation can actually lead to tumors/cancer is remains inconclusive. However, the radiation does leave the area of your brain in an state of excited energy. Tests are still under way to see long term effects. (In my opinion, I don't want a cell phone next to my head...head set all the way!)

Remember when the Marboro man was on television and in all of the magazines? Do your remember the long legged, beautiful woman who advertised Virginia slims.
I truthfully believe many cancers are caused by smoking and in the 60's, 70's and early 80's, smoking was made glamorous in the mass media. Kids who were too young and immature to understand started smoking because they thought it was so cool, they became addicted and now they are getting cancers. Those kids are in their 40's and 50's now.

Because more people go to the doctors office for every little ailment.
You get a checkup, and they find stuff wrong with you.

In the past, most people went to the doctors to set bones and stitch up their wounds. Life expectancy was not that old, so why worry about cancer?

There are millions of cars, trucks buses, rv's semi's on the road,.
Factories pouring out smoke.
Chemicals being put in the food, and drinks,
aerosol cans in billions of homes.
That would be a start.
