Sometimes I grab a spoon and hit the honey jar. A couple of spoonfuls gives me energy to burn. Really good when I'm dancing or exercising.

Try to avoid heavy, rich foods and meats -- the energy needed to digest those will really sap you.

A little pasta and veggies, in a light salad, can do wonders for you in the heat, and it's cool and refreshing if you do it right. Use a light dressing, maybe a fruit or veggie based one with little or no oil. The pasta gives you carbs to burn, and the veggies give you longer lasting fuel. For an evening meal, add some cubed or shredded cheese, if you like.
