Dude- you are safe! It may kill the mood at the moment, but in the long run is good. I think that they should warn you when you get that close...

Don't ask her that RIGHT before you kiss her, it ruins the mood AND insults her. Ask her in casual conversation during the day, then maybe a few hours later kiss her.

It would probably kill the mood if you do it right before you kiss her, but it is the prudent thing to do.

if you feel that way homie.....don't kiss her.....because if she does have it and you get, that will be inappropriate........don't take chances with you're body....
