There is nothing about cheerleaders that stand out as attractive... but the first thing that someone notices about another person is how he/she looks. Cheerleading outfits show off a person's body while the big smiles make the girls look friendly and inviting.
Any girl who dresses in a coordinated outfit and smiles (genuinely) rather than scowls should find guys being drawn to her.
In addition, skirts are cute. Doesn't have to be a kilt-like skirt (although the bounce is attractive). Maybe "cute" is the wrong word. Feminine. The tom-boy look is only works so far. Think about it in reverse... a guy can only be so "metro" before he starts looking like Carson from queer eye. Same thing with girls. Men tend to be attracted to feminine women.
Cheerleaders actually have more going against them than for them. They have to fight stereotypes of being ditsy and [sexually] easy. A lot of quality guys will stay away from them no matter how attractive they are simply because the guy is worried about getting involved with someone shallow. The stereotype is unfair in both directions.

i like a girl that takes care of her body, and cheerleading requires some athleticism. i also like a girl that knows how to dance, and cheerleading is similar to football or basketball in high-school. Could i ask you why do u like athletes??

I am attracted to cheerleaders. Yeah, hot bodies and all, but the skirt is what does it for me.
But to actually DATE one long-term? No way.

Mainly., because they are young, cute, with great smiles and energy, very athletic, often, so what's not to like.
Not to mention those short skirts and cute outfits they all wear.
I know we could stare at them for eons, who needs those silly guys on the field anyway, lol.

As a norm, YES!
I think it has to do with them being in shape, flexiable and usually cute! They are also more social, and normaly wear minimal clothing to show off their hard work!
