SEPTEMBER IS HURRICANE SEASON. HURRICANES CAN APPEAR ANYTIME NOW THRU LATE OCTOBER OR EARLY NOVEMBER(RARELY)THE FURTHER SOUTH YOU GO IN THE CARRIBEAN THE LESS CHANCE OF HURRICANES OCCURING. ITS ALL A LUCK OF THE DRAW. YOU DONT KNOW THIS FAR OUT IN TIME. MADE 7 CRUISES TO THE CARRIBEAN AND ONLY BEEN CHASED BY 1 TWO YEARS AGO. ONLY CONSEQUENCE WAS WE MISSED 1 PORT. STRONGLY RECOMMEND ROYAL CARRIBEAN LINES FOR THEIR SHIPS, SERVICE AND FOOD(ALWAYS GREAT).STAY AWAY FROM BAHAMAS, JAMACA,ST.JOHN, ANTIGUA(NOTHING THERE TO SEE). MEXICO IS JUST OK WITH US. THE MYIAN TEMPLES & SUCH ARE GREAT.ONLY PROBLEM WE EVER HAD ON CRUISING TO MEXICO THAT YOU ARE BOTHERED ALOT BY CHILDREN & ADULTS TRYING TO SELL YOU SOMETHING.AFTER A SHORT TIME THERE YOU GET USE TO THEM AND IGNORE THEM. EXCURSIONS ARE ALL OVERPRICE NO MATTER WHEN OR WHERE YOU GO.WE LIKED ST MARTEEN(DUTCH SIDE)THE BEST OF ALL THE ISLANDS.ON FIRST CRUISE SUGGEST A LARGE SHIP(OVER 1000 FEET) LIKE THE ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS, FREEDOM OF THE SEAS. SMALLER SHIPS 975 FEET OR SMALLER TEND TO ROCK A LITTLE(BUT NOT MUCH). CANT COMMENT ON PRICES SINCE THEY VARY GREATLY BASED ON FROM WHAT PORT YOU LEAVE AND RETURN, LENGTH OF CRUISE, CATAGORY CLASS TO NAME A FEW. EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED EXCEPT FOR AIRFARES,SPECIAL SERVICES, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, SODA, AND SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS INCLUDING TIPS. CRUISE BROCHURE IS YOUR BEST SOURCE OF INFO IN ADDITION TO THE INTERNET.IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST CRUISE WHICH I CAN ASSUME BY YOUR QUESTION THAT IT IS, STAY IN AN OUTSIDE CABIN SLIGHTLY FORWARE OR BACKWARD OF THE MIDDLE OF THE SHIP AWAY FROM ELEVATORS OR STAIRS. TEND TO BE NOISEY AT TIMES BY PEOPLE COMING OR GOING LATE AT NITE. DECKS 7 & UP ARE BEST.

i took a cruise to the bahamas in june of 1999...it was great. we used carnival cruise lines and had a blast! just remember to watch the weather since from june til november is hurricane season...most cruise lines will change the itinerary if there is the threat of a hurricane during your vacation or they will offer some other kind of replacement...just check with your travel agent or cruise line for more specific information on cancellations or inclimate weather in that area.

The weather and conditions do vary from island to island particularly in respect of proneness to hurricanes in the season.
See page below where you can look at individual islands in more detail. Hope this helps.

PRIME HURRICANE SEASON!
IF YOU HAVE TO DO SO...STAY AWAY FROM
WESTERN CARIBBEAN. MEXICO...HAITI..ETC

BEST CHOICE IS TO FLY TO SAN JUAN TO SAIL
THOUGH THEY HAVE HURRICANES, YOU MIGHT MISS A LOT THAT SEEM TO HEAD TOWARD THE GULF.

EASTERN CARIBBEAN NOT MUCH BETTER THAN WESTERN. BAHAMAS..ETC..
