My grandma's hot chocolate and fried tea cakes were delicious. Growing up I took them for granted but a few years ago I went back home and she prepared it for me...and I could have died...that's how delicious they were. She makes home made whipped cream and she adds it to the hot chocolate as she makes it so it's so creamy and good. Oh...and she also used cocoa instead of chocolate which gives it a stronger taste. I have no idea what the recipes for the tea cakes are, but they look like round little donuts with honey glaze poured over them.
Ok...now I am officially craving some! lol...

I pass over my grandma's real mashed potatoes with pan gravy, her chocolate chip cookies, and her selfmade bread exchange into fantastic. I even have never are available in the time of bread that tastes merely like hers and now the recipe's long previous. Her goulash however i eventually controlled to recreate even with each and everything those years! this is no longer in all probability real, extra like a 1950's version of Hungarian goulash made with hamburger, canned soups, and green olives. yet i like it and continually jogs my memory of her.

Pigs in the blanket (roast beef sliced thin, with baccon rolled inside and secured with a toothpick then browned and cooked in a slow cooker) mashed potatoes, and cauliflower with italian bread crumbs. That would be with my Granny
Grandma L never cooked an actual meal for me....her specialties were cookies and breads. My favorite cookies were chocolate cookies with chocolate icing on the top...they had a cake like texture.....mmmmm good!

It was the simple things. She would make bologna sandwiches with Miracle Whip. (My mother only used "real" mayo.) And she would always have strawberry Quick powder to make strawberry milk with. I think it may just be that we never had that in our house. So that made it special. Also that she cared enough about "the little things" that I made such a big deal out of, that she made sure she had it every time I visited.

Grandma Fern's Potato Soup. I have the recipe but it never really tastes like hers. She also made the best darn hot cocoa from scratch ever.

Mine would have to be pork chops and fried potatoes. They were just crispy enough. I've been trying to perfect my version ever since.
