Reactions can be strong or rather mild - I never experienced one, but my sister got a rash from an antibiotic. Some medications can cause reactions from siezures to itches, it really can vary depending on the drug and the dosage.
I have food allergies - if I eat something I'm allergic to, sometimes it will be mild like itchy gums or it can cause swelling and close the throat.

I am allergic to penicillin. It was first noticed when I was an infant. My parents forgot that it was me and thought it was my sister! So, when I got sick at 16 yrs old-the doc prescribed penicillin-and since, they thought it was my sister, allowed me to take it! BIG MISTAKE!! I broke out with these sores that looked like big blisters-all over my body including my face!! (That's not a good thing when you are 16 and had a date that weekend!!) Thank goodness I only took 2 tablets! However, I have to carry a card that states I am allergic to it because if given to me in high dosage-it could kill me!!

Twice. to Tapazole-hyperthyroid drug and Cipro-antibiotic.
With both I got severe itching (not that kind) but on the bottoms on my feet and everywhere. I also broke out in hives on my face and arms. It hurt so much.
This was all within the year. I've never had any reactions before this. Kinda Scary. It's like trial and error.

Yes, I have. I don't remember the name because it was over ten years ago, but it was a dermatology drug used to treat a skin disease (which can also be treated with a tube of anti-fungal cream at the local drug store, much cheaper.)
Since it was a skin drug, it cause my skin to... look sorta like scales. I remember telling my dad I was turning into a lizard. The inside of my elbows were the worst. They were shiny!

Yep, I was taking Sulfa for a kidney infection, and about an hour after I took it, I had trouble breathing, and my heart was going a mile a minute, and I had to be rushed to the ER.
