Have any of you used Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program)? If so what did(do) you think?

I know that every Hollywood movie from "Titanic -1997" to "Shrek2"
was rendered in Gimp. In the live movies, the 'bluescreen' effects are great! In the animations, the flow is fantastic! And they used clusters of Linux computers, saving millions!

In fact, I am creating my own GIMP Cluster! Anyone with two ro more computers already has the hardware! Just add the FREE software!!!

Personally, the GNU Image Manipulation Program is included on most of the FREE and Livecdrom versions of Linux and BSD.

Lucky thing, because I only do work in programs that do NOT steal my designs, or try to apply Digital Rights Management to restrict my Constitutional Rights!

I can make multiple copies of MY WORKS, and, save them in any media! I don't find the application program 'calling home' and mailing my works to the 'Mother Ship of Pirates'!

Yes, GIMP is my shield against lock-out of artists, due to up-front threats of lawsuit; large 'registration fees' and, theft of my works.

The GIMP, Creative Commons, anyone?

When I can't use Photoshop at a remote site I usually have GIMP on a CD taht I can install and do some basic editing and image creation with. It's not bad at all - I'd rate is close in power to Photoshop 4. Not the greatest but functional and for the price it's great.
