In a 25-yard pool, a mile is 70 lengths (35 laps)

So.....a half mile is 35 lengths or just under 18 laps.

good luck on the tri ! When is it? Have you done one before?

Some pools are a bit smaller than "Olympic" or standard size so assume that you need to do 20 laps (1 lap is up and back ) to do a 1/2 mile.

At my high school and college tracks. 4 laps equals a mile so 2 laps equals 1/2 a mile.

purely wondering logically, as i have seen football fields with tracks going round them, i ought to guess that one lap round a football field is about a million/4 of a mile. so that you purely ran very nearly 2 miles.

Ask at the swimming pool. Someone there will know. It might be posted. Depends how big the pool is--what is "STANDARD SIZE?
Good luck!
