Diesel fuel used to be cheaper but now it's more expensive where we live.
I would stick with a F150 Ford pick up that takes regular gas. We are on our second one & love it.

i say the diesel. they have there pros and cons though. The Big Three diesels are the Duramax(Chevy and GMC), Cummins(Dodge) and the Powerstroke(FORD!!!!!) Of the three the Cummins gets the best mileage. It is not uncommon to get 22-24 mpg. The Duramax, which should be called the Duracrap is the worst of the three. It comes in the worst truck, has the worst mpg and has the least power, but has the best transmission. The Powerstroke is my personal favorite, but be warned the 6.0L is nothing like the tried and true 7.3L. The 7.3 is the better motor. These babies need a lot of maintence and the oil changes get costly. They use gallons of oil as opposed to quarts. They hold their value much better than the gas engines and will run basically forever. yeah diesel is a little higher than gas and the maintence sucks(a little) but to get that kinda fuel mileage in that big of a truck is awesome and the smell and the sound are the best parts

Depending on how you drive, remember diesel doesn't last forever, and some of the diesel engines are $16,000.
If you don't like paying for fuel, don't buy a truck, buy a car.

We have one of each and the diesel gets better gas mileage by far.

If you plan on keeping your truck forever then go with a diesel.
