Eye for an Eye is, and always will be God's law. We even see the same concept in the words of Jesus. Jesus said, if we judge others, we will be judged. Jesus also said, if we forgive others, we will also be forgiven. Jesus also said, if we deny Him before men, He will deny us before His Father in Heaven. All these things Jesus said clearly follow eye for an eye teaching. All these things Jesus said clearly can be put as: what you do, will also be done to you. That's eye for an eye, if I ever saw it! So we see that God's law is eternal. His concepts never change. We see this in other concepts as well. For example in the concept of blood atonement. Blood sacrifice never stopped being the only way to have forgiveness of sin. God only made the ultimate blood sacrifice for our atonement. But the concept remains: being a good person is not enough, because we all fall short, and therefore blood is necessary to cover our sins. You see, we believe the same way. I just felt it was necessary to correct you, since your post seemed a little anti-semitic. Eye for an eye remains God's way - even for christians.

no, those defending what you term the "lebanon offensive" use the principal of self-defense to explain it--VERY different from "eye for an eye" (whether you agree with their explanation or not).
