As the previous people have said, rechargables will be cheaper in the long run... but that's not the problem.
Cameras require batteries with a mAh value of at least 1800 (2100 mAh or higher is recommended). The package should mention this number, or at least state that the batteries are suitable for digital cameras. Ordinary AA batteries are only 1500 mAh and will drain like crazy.

Digital Cameras are notorious for draining batteries...mine does the same thing. I try to conserve by switching off the big view screen, or switching to the tiny view box, in between taking pictures, because the LCD screen eats up power. Plus, I bought rechargeable batteries. For trips and stuff I have extra throw aways, but buy a charger & 2-3 sets of batteries for how many your camera takes & cycle through them, it sure saves alot of money!
You can usually find nical-cad or nickel-lith batteries & chargers where you got your camera, Wal-mart or Radio Shack probably has them too. Hope that helps.

If they are regular batteries, that's just how the monkey swings.
Bite the bullet and purchase rechargeable batteries and a charger - you'll save a ton of money.

digital cameras chew up and spit out regular batteries. try getting some rechargeables. You don't have to throw them out and they seem to last longer than regular ones

buy yourself a couple sets of rechargable nickel metal hydride batteries. keep them charged and you'll always have power. I have three sets, and they have lasted over three years so far.
