I'm a christian, and I know that's a silly question! yes, Darwin existed!

I am not an atheist but I do know that Charles darwin existed, just like I know George Washington and Abraham Lincoln existed. I also know that Jesus Christ existed based on faith. If an atheist doesn't have the faith then he doesn't believe in God. What difference should that make to you though. If you're hinting that evolution is phony then you're barking up the wrong tree. Science and religion are two different disiplines but very compatible. Even the Catholic Church believes in evolution. So, I think you question is pretty silly.

Two things.

#1. Someone was asking for records of Jesus' existance other than the bible. Jesus of Nazareth was mentioned in roman records (census and the like) of the time period with more frequency than Julius Ceasar. You may argue over His divinity, but you may not argue over His existance.

#2. I don't know if Darwin actually refuted his theory later on in life. I've heard rumours of a deathbed conversion, and for his sake I hope they are true. I do, however, know that he proved his own theory false. Darwin said in his book (I want to say the Origin of Species, but it could be one of his others) that if an irriducible complexity were to be discovered, his theory would no longer work.
An irriducible complexity is something which cannot work in any form without all of its parts, therefore refuting the idea that it could have 'evolved' from something simpler and developed its many parts over time. It was discovered after his death that the human eye is an irriducible complexity.

You may believe Darwin's theory if you wish, but I find it disconcerting to believe in something which is no longer supported by its author.

Hmmm, let's see...

Darwin:
1) Photographs
2) His personal writings
3) Extended Family that still exists

"god" and "jesus"
1) None
2) None (There are no books of the bible or any manuscript written by jesus)
3) This I'll leave to the Da vinci Code crew...

Yeah, good logic there. How do you know I exist, have you seen me?

You've been ticketed by the Logic Police for attempted logic.

Do you really think this is a serious question?

How do you expect me to take you seriously when you don't take yourself as such?

How can I respect someone who talks like this?

What kind of responses are you expecting?

Do you know how far I could take your logic? Have you met George Bush? Osama? See where I'm going? You see the logic?

This is logic

You still reading?

It's people like you who give your faith the reputation it is beginning to get.

You're the new Taliban

enable's fake for a second that he did not exist. The center concepts* of the idea of Evolution by using organic decision are nonetheless valid as they're subsidized up by using mountains of information. * I say center concepts because there are finer information to Darwin's artwork that were disproved. cutting-part evolutionary theory isn't the very similar as Darwin's theory, it truly is between the numerous causes human beings get aggravated at Creationists calling them "Darwinists". It shows a real lack of understanding of the problem.

Well, I'm a Christian. I've never looked at Jesus Christ in the face, but I know he is real. So, as long as there are genealogical records, documents evidencing Darwin's existence, I would think he was a real person who once lived.

Actually not a bad question. The answer is, I couldn't prove that he actually existed because you're right, i've never met him in person. Hell, for that matter, i've never been to Australia, maybe it doesn't exist. Never been to Africa either.....also never met Bush....for all I know you're just some computer script putting words together cleverly.......maybe...i'm not actually here....mabey i'm just some brain in a jar on life support being fed input through thousands of little electrodes......

I'm not a man! I'm a butterfly! Look at me soar! Look at me glide!

I'm agnostic, but but know he existed. His books exist and pictures exist. God's hand didn't come down from the sky to write the bible and there are no photos of god. I'm more willing to believe in Darwin than god.

No, Charles Darwin never existed. This is where faith comes in. You have to "just believe" that he existed.
