You can get sunburned in your eyes - this can happen especially if you are snow skiing without goggles on to block the UV rays bouncing off the white snow. It has a name - but I can't recall it at the moment. Symptoms are irritated, red, sensitivity to bright light...
Call your optometrist and describe your symptoms to see if you need to be examined and what treatment you can get for relief.
Good luck!

Not the retinas, and no- even burnt retinas are most likely to produce blind spots, not total blindness.

The corneas can get burnt, though. Symptoms are severe irritation and photophobia (avoiding light). Surprisingly, little redness.

Just ask any welder.

It is not described as a sunburn when it comes to your eyes.UV rays cause people to go blind which is a symptom.
