For you to ask a question like that it means that you don't and never will understand the difference between the two. Religious is the base of alot of people livelihood. The slaves used their religious faith because that's all they had to keep up their spirits. You are an ignorant person to think that way.

I hate when people say "its better to be safe than sorry" if God is real - referring to the fact that you should believe just to be safe.
THATS NOT HOW IT IS. Why would you want to live out your life believing a lie?? You would just waste it away. Your mind wont expand as much. Life would be so much better for everyone if they just faced the truth and thought for themselves instead of believing crap they were told as a kid!!

How do you define stupid? I know lots of people who are religious who are very well educated, and many people who are more secularly aligned who are very very poorly educated. It seems like socio-economic factors like your location, families income and education have more to do with level of education than religious beliefs.
Unless of course you are defining stupidity as having a different opinion and outlook than you. But if you ask me, that's a pretty stupid definition of stupid.
