I stop perming my hair about 5 months ago and I'm experiencing lots of breakage and I have a lot of short pieces. I'm thinking of going natural, so I may cut of the relax ends, but I don't know what I should do to stop all the breage, can someone please suggest something for me thanks?

The only way to stop the breakage is to cut the dead perm ends off... and once you do that you are left with stronger healthier hair. You should try using a leave in conditioner, wash your hair once a week... lay off using anything that can burn your hair -flat irons, curling irons, even straighting combs. Use a lite moisturizer daily ... and give yourself hot oil treatments... even use Infusium 23 products, etc ... or stick with your normal hair care products that you were using before if you feel like it was helpful during the phase when you were relaxing your hair... sleep with a silk scarf on your head or bonnet...

I'm right with you, I've gotten my hair clinically straightened three times and it completely destroyed parts of my hair. So now my hair is really short at the top in some places. I would suggest looking for a place that has a protien treatment. I'm getting a treatment at a salon near me and so far it's worked out really well... it'll make your hair stronger. For now, look for shampoo's that are made to make your hair stronger and give it more vitamins. Don't stress your hair too much, no flat-ironing or anything that pulls on your hair too much, at least for a month or two.

Hope this helped and that things work out for you <3

When I experienced breakage, I used Motions CPR Conditioner Treatment. Stopped the breakage on a dime.

The only way to stop it is to get the damaged ends cut off. Go to your stylist and have them do the cut. And then condition, condition, condition!!! You can also try going to a beauty supply store and getting a hair masque. It's a very thick deep conditioner that should help moisturize your dry, damaged ends.

At this stage your hair needs to be conditioned constantly. Try buying moisterizing shampoos and conditioners. Panteen for women of colour is an excellent treatment.

Dr. Michaels is also a good transition treatment.

Coconut oil works wonders. You can get it at the health food store (just plain coconut oil). Your hair won't hold a curl if you use it, but it will be very strong and won't break.
