I've got a court order to go to AA meetings 2 times a week. I've been there and can't stand it. My question is can I have people I know sign my paper that I have to show my probation officer saying that I went to the meetings and get away with it.

The reason you probably hate it is that you are being forced to go and that you don't have a problem.....right?

Too bad. You obviously drink and drive.

You think the court hasn't seen someone try to sign papers and not go? They WILL know what the topics of those meetings are and your slips better match those topics.

I guess the only way that can happen is for you to go.

Or just turn yourself in now and get all your jail time.

Your choice.

Try a different group. AA is not going to make you feel comfortable right now. If you get caught not going you will be in more trouble. Listen at the meetings. There is a lot of wisdom in that room!

At AA meetings they say to "take what you need and leave the rest". Surely there's something that you can use there. Why don't you try going and actually listening? You might hear something that helps.

If you don't like one meeting, try another one. Al-Anon meetings saved my sanity, if not my life, but I had to try 5 different groups before I found one that fit me.

You're only cheating yourself. Evidently you need help and should seek it out through any means that will help you to see the light.I have limited knowledge of AA but enough to know that if someone believes in themselves, it can be done, with support and help of those in the same situation.......

Try a different meeting if you hate it so much. They have them all over the place all the time.

I wouldn't try it. my buddy skipped a meeting and it turned out the court had a "spy" at the meeting. He was busted.
