In the 2 1/2 weeks since my fiance left me, I haven't eaten much at all, and went from 198 to 176.
22 pounds! Oh yeah!
Getting dumped is the greatest diet plan EVER!

Avoid thinking in terms of weight. Instead be concerned with body-fat %. Even if you were to loose say 20 pounds in one week you are getting fatter, because as your body "eats" it's own muscle tissue your body-fat % increases causing your metabolism to slow down. As soon as you start eating again you will put on more fat due to the reduction in lean muscle mass. What you are considering has been attempted millions of times with absolutely horrible results. In the end you still have to do what it takes to be healthy: Eat 4-6 small healthy meals daily, avoid eating a lot of carbs before bed, exercise regularly with cardio AND resistance training and respect your body. Just think in one year or even ten years from now you will have to do the right thing for your health, no matter how fast or how much you loose in the next week.

It depends how overweight you are. A larger person doing exercise burns more because it requires more energy to move due to the extra weight pulled by the muscles. If you eat too few calories your body is tricked into thinking there is a famine and paradoxically slows down your metabolism in order to 'survive'. You need to get the balance right for you given your current weight. Just eat healthy, cut out fat and sugar and do exercise. Don't count calories.

I once didn't eat for 2 weeks I think and I lost about 12 pounds that doesn't seem like a lot to me though. I also did it once for 3 days and lost 3 pounds which really sucked cause if I was only going to lose 3 then I would of eaten.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Okay... this all depends on a couple of things.
To find out exactly how much you need to do this.
First, get your basal metabolism. Follow this link.
http://www.code-interactive.com/evolution-diet/healthprofile.html
Once you have it, factor in any exercise you do, and add that to your basal metabolism number.
Then subtract any food calories that you ate.
That is your net loss for the day.
There are 3500 cals in one pound of fat so divide your number by 3500. That is how much you can lose in one day.
Multiply that by 7. That is how much you can lose in one week.
If you lose more than that, it means you are losing water weight and are at risk of dehydration. Which means you are running the risk of having a heart attack.
If you seriously want to lose weight, go to this website. It has helped me a lot.

Good luck

I did it, and u loose weight very fast.
Don't suggest doing it for long or that often. Drink lots of water also. But when u come off of, u gotta be careful, coz ur body stores more fat when u start to eat because of the stress it is under.

Wanna lose weight? Eat at least 1600 calories a day OR your body will shift to defense mode. Which means in simple english it will try to store calories, inhibiting your weight loss.
1600 a day keeps you metabolism involved and you'll loss faster!!!

Truth is you don't loose weight you loose water, bone mass, and muscle. There for you start to become unhealthy and your body starts to feed off of itself and you hair will also start to fall out. So anytime you eat after starving yourself your body will then just store what ever you eat as fat so the next time you don't eat. You mess yourself up.
