I have driven both the Corvette (I prefere the older models of the 60's and 70's... especially the Stingray) and the Viper... and more than one model of each. The corvette is a standard american icon that is a much better value than the viper. The viper has vast amounts of HP and Torque but the handling in it at upper speeds is deceptive due to the long front end and the distance from the driver to the wheels. But in a drag race you would find it to be awsome. The major problem with even looking at buying on is that what few dealers actually shell the cash out to get one in the show room want about 40%more than MSRP if not more. So your looking at paying a good 100k to get one out the door... and more if you pay cash... and yeah you would think that you would get a better deal in cash but unless you are talking to the owner of the dealership you looking at a guy trying to make commission and financing means more you pay out.
The Corvette is a great car, for the most part it may have less of a powerhouse than the Viper but its reasonabley fast in acceleration and in top end. The price is much nicer and you got more room to haggle a bit, but its not hte mark up that a Viper has. Plus your talking about a car with good trade in value or resale value in the future, Vipers are too hard to maintain, resale, or trade-in cause everyone knows anyone who owns a viper is going to drive the crap out of it.
Looks... It depends on what your looking for ... I honestly have to say I think the Viper has a better look to it... unless someone would come out with a new Corvette stingray model. Power I think you get more from the viper. Handling... Corvette no doubt about it, Luxory its all in the accessories... but you want to talk about keyless entry, the corvett doesnt even need a key... you just get within a few feet of your car and it unlocks and drops the windows down a bit for you to open the door... you get in and the ignition is a little button that lights up green.. just push and drive, and when you get out and walk away, the windows roll up and the doors lock, all on their own.
Its your choice,,, I say "Go with the Vette"

on the looks they are about the same.. but i like the viper look better, on the power.. the corvette has 505hp and the viper has 5 more at 510hp, but the viper has over 50 more torque at 535 ft-lbs.. on the down side the viper is 200lbs heavier... handling im not sure ive never driven either one.. with luxory i think the corvette has more options that you can add... but in the end it comes down to pricing.. the best trim corvette costs about $65,000... while the viper costs over $83,000..
i would go with the corvette... the viper is only a bit better but costs a lot more

i think id go with a viper for a few reasons,1) i see alot of corvettes now, but almost no vipers 2) the viper symbol is so much kooler 3) the vipers are more expensive for a reason, they have amazing handling and the viper GTS can go from 0 to 100 back to 0 in 12 seconds flat! they also have lots of awesome features, and if you really dont like the viper you can sell it and buy a corvette and pocket the extra $. but i guess the main reason is i see waaay too many corvettes on the roads and almost no vipers.
awesome question!
hope you have a gr8 week! :)

Over and over the results for most testing I've seen puts the Vette at the top for best bang for the buck and all around great power and handling but they are a little vanilla on the styling. The latest Vette although not ugly is about 5 years behind its European counterparts. If you want the brute force and and unique styling have to go to the Viper. It is not as much of a daily driver but if you want "show off" bang for your buck, that's it.
It may sound like I am not giving an answer but you have to qualify what you value more. Both are great cars and have tremendous potential for additional tuning (if you are not satisfied with the the 400-500 hp that they deliver stock.
Fun Question!

Depends on what you want Vette's are loaded w/ toys, a Viper is just raw power and performance. Personally I think the Viper looks better, But for the whole package I'd take the Vette

I would pick a Viper. Less people have it and I watched a drag race between the two and the Viper completely "destroyed" the corvette. You pick.

Lamborghini.
I'm sorry, I think the looks of both the 'Vette and the Viper are just too rough, and lack grace. If you're going for that kind of car, just get a Lamborghini and be in debt for the rest of your natural life.
Otherwise, get a Jaguar convertible.

Corvette all the way, baby! (Not that I'd turn down a Viper if, say, I won one or anything.)
