I've seen so many come to the Lord over the years and I've never once believe someone who said: "There is no God" they say that but they do know. That's why they come to every Christian Chat..here on Religion..they know. They will sit there forever saying they are no more than a land rat...but they know. When they get converted they all say that...I really did believe but I tried my best to find reasons not too...I wanted a free pass...but they all hang out where Christians do...they love to tell us how they can" think on their own" as if they are a big boy or girl...see I can think...look at me. They aren't fooling anyone.

Do you agree?

Sadly, you will never know what is in the heart and mind of anyone else. Just as some could call you brainwashed or delusional, you call other's beliefs into question.

You are full of it if you think you have any true knowledge about the existence or non-existence of god. There is no proof either way. That is why mankind will continue to have this philosophical discussion until the end of time.

You think these people are fooling themselves, and they think you are fooling yourself. Who is right? You can't both be right, and neither one will relent. You have no proof for your beliefs and neither do they. Don't waste any more time worrying about it. Live a good life or be a hypocrite. But everytime you fight about it, you are that much further away from the god you cherish. Good luck with that.

I don't believe in god. I respect your right to believe in God. Why can't you respect my beliefs? Nobody knows which of us is correct, therefore we should respect the right of people to CHOOSE for themselves what to believe.

I didn't come to the religion section to answer. This question just happened to be on the first page of ALL open questions when I clicked on Yahoo Answers.

In addition, Christianity isn't the only religion. This section is for all religions. That includes Christianity, but also includes Islam, Buddhism, Satanism, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Wiccan, etc. Christians don't have the right to have their beliefs put into a position over ANY other religion.

Belief in god is faith. And I believe it is possible to not have faith. I have no faith in the existance of a god. And that is reasonable. Some people believe it is reasonable to believe in something that can not be proven. I accept that. I think religion, whether right or wrong, has a place in society. If for no other reason than to teach morality. But I find it hard to believe that some people think that with no faith or belief in god there is no morality. Differences of opinion are natural. Maybe we should look at differences as a positive thing and not as an attack.

I don't believe what they believe, but I believe that they believe it.

And I respect that.

EDIT: But in reading the rest of your post, I see how you get to the heart of the matter ...

Listen: I don't "come to every Christian chat"

"Religion and Spirituality" is only for Christians

And so what if I "hang out where Christians do"? It's a free country, ain't it? How come Christians also hang out where I do?

I will say it for the empteenth time: one can believe in God, and not be a Christian.

I'm getting tired and perturbed at that claim.

And who the heck every claimed to be "a land rat"??????

No I don't agree with you but I would never tell you to change your beliefs... everyone is free to believe as they will. I do not believe deities exist, however, I respect anyone else's freewill to believe as they will.

I started out as a christian and I will never go back to that nor any other deity-based belief.. I do not believe in the deity, that a human being is 'divine' when it goes against all laws of genetic science and when the religion uses fear as it's base to make people toe the line.

I am married to a christian so I certainly don't tell christians what they should and should not be believing.

I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ this past year and I've never felt better.......but....
there was a time when I thought the Christian God was no more than a fairy tale, and that all 'believers' were brainwashed by their "propaganda".I read the Bible and it was just a book, a story, written long ago with no purpose for today's society.

Being on the other side of the fence for so long I can see how someone may think of us as 'Jesus freaks' and 'strange' but until I opened my eyes, my mind and my heart to Jesus Christ I wouldn't of understood the LOVE that Jesus Christ had for me. The Bible came ALIVE with meaning and I realized that yes, the Bible's message is as true today as it was yesterday and it will be true in the future. God's message is forever. I understood how much God loved me to send his son Jesus to die for our sins.

This is not Christian Chat, and you are wrong. Quite a few people don't believe in God. Just because you can't wrap your brain around it, doesn't make it invalid. And, I really don't believe that you know large numbers of Atheists that converted to Christianity.

No, I don't agree. There are plenty of nonbelievers who nonbelieve for motives as irrational as those that believers use to come to belief. Those are the ones who convert.

You are not in a position to know what goes on in the minds of others, unless they tell you. If you choose not to believe thousands because of the testimony of a few individuals, that's up to you, but it certainly isn't a rational position.

there must be a God. When I was 11, i hadnt practiced piano for my lesson and it was only 1 day away so i prayed that my teacher would be busy and it turned out that the next day she had to make up a test at school that she missed.

I can say that after spending the first 30 years of my life being indoctrinated into the Christian faith that I can say...

THERE IS NO GOD!!!

I read this section because I need to understand my opponents to engage them in debates.
