I'm a Freshman at a high shcool I'm already the most advanced classes I can, but I want to do great in them and by the time I graduate have the highest honors I can get and have a 4.0. It will be a lot of hard work I know. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can complete my goal?

#1 stay organized, you will never know if you really need that extra study sheet or not.

#2 always ask questions, even if you think they are stupid.

#3 be the most talkative person in the class, teachers love it when you offer an answer because it gives them something to continue talking about.

#4 if you are getting a less than satisfactory grade, go talk to the teacher. ask for any extra credit assignments or to redo something you got a bad grade on.

#5 pay attention to weighted grades. if you know that homework is worth 50% of your grade and tests worth 20%, do your freeking homework.

good luck.

I don't think Honors courses are too hard. I adjusted well academically from middle school to high school, and didn't find many problems. You might be expected to understand, learn, and apply the material a little more quickly than a student taking regular courses though. That might be a problem if you're a slow learner (like I am). My grade point average in middle school was high too, and I excelled in honors courses. The workload won't be too much. I had mandatory honors projects and standardized testing I had to pass to earn credit for the course. I don't know if that's required for you or not. If you're still worried, talk to teachers and students who know about the honors courses at the high school you'll be attending. They'll be glad to answer questions, and can get into specifics of things. And golf won't impede too much, especially if it's a seasonal sport. (I don't know much about golf...) Best of luck!

Does your school give 5.0 credit for harder classes? Some schools do that and it motivates you to work hard and if you get a B it doesn't affect a 4.0 while if you get an A you can have over a 4.0. Mainly if you want to do this you need to be dedicated and have time for a lot of homework and studying. If it's really important to you, you will find a way.

Best of Luck!

In my high school most "over achievers" graduated with more than a 4.0. Some classes had gave .5 more than the others. The best way to get excellent GPA is never let any text, quiz, or exam catch up with you. Mainly always remember its the knowledge that you retain that gets you the GPA not just passing the test this week. Remember what you learn and you will be truely advanced.

Don't party. Have no friends. Sit at home every night. Join marching band. Boom. Overachieving 4.0 high honors. Of course, I did all these things, cept I partied a lot and had friends and got a 3.7 in HS. Just graduated as an aero engineer from college.

Take it from me... study hard, but have fun... don't fret if you don't have perfect grades. Nothing that happens in HS ever, and I mean EVER matters after you leave HS. Just do the best you can, get into a good college, study something you love, and then do something you love...

Doing extra credit projects... the kind *not* assigned in school....but the kind that after you reasearch the topics...... you can teach the class. The over the 4.0 credits come with community service( school involved).....learning sign language, learning foreign languages *not* presented in the schools( foreign language studies have awesome career opportunities for translators)..hands on working model projects help as well....along with taking under your wing students with disabilities. Staying organized is a must! My son currently has a 4.15 GPA in his 3rd year of a 5 year degree

Summer school and night school. The extra courses on your transcript will only look good on your university or college application but it will also keep you organized. When you have so much to do, you have to get at it right away. It's when there's lots of time that things get put off until it's too late.

I've always taken honors classes, the only thing it really is is more work. If you're up to it, you can do it. If you really try I'm sure you'll be fine, it'll be more challenging though. Good luck to you.
