Elect government officials who will admit that global warming exists and is being caused by human activities. Encourage them to financially support research and development of energy technologies that do not contribute to greenhouse emissions.

On a personal level, do every thing you can to minimize the amount of energy you use:
Use mass transit
Get a high-milage car
Buy efficient appliances
Use your AC less
Insulate your house
Recycle....The list is really endless...

Sounds like there might be two questions here. Helping global warming and help prevent global warming. For the sake of earning two points I will answer both.

1) I would think you mean how to PREVENT global warming. So I will tell you of the few ways I know of. The largest producers of CO2 gas are the big companies that produce something and burn off emissions into the atmosphere followed by cars and the people that drive them and then natural things like cow farts.

If you want to slow global warming stop using your car so much. Try public transportation, car pool, or walk to places. Don't drive around in a H2 or Navigator that gets 10 miles per gallon. In your house unplug those huge transformer plugs that take up half the plug face when you put them in the wall (these burn a lot of energy that isn't really used when they aren't on), lower the temperature on the thermostat in the winter and raise it in the summer.

Try not to buy things that have a lot of plastic on or in them. The plastic itself won't hurt the environment but the production needed for the product will, this will lessen the demand for plastic products and companies will produce less.

Reuse and recycle. The only real recyclable object that makes money is the aluminum can so find a place that recycles these and earn some cash.

I think by far the most powerful ways of reducing and hopefully eliminating global warming is to learn, inform others, write your congressmen to tell them how you feel, and practice what you preach.

People will try and tell you that global warming is caused by changes in the natural climate but these changes take place over a thousand years not 10 years as they are now. People will also tell you that global warming is caused by changes in land use (people are building more houses/buildings this means less trees to breath in all the CO2 we give off) but really there is no one thing that is causing global warming. It's everything.

So start by unplugging your computer at night. Small things will lead to bigger things. The important thing is to start helping and stop debating.

2) If you want to help global warming by all means please continue doing what everyone else is doing: Deny, Deny, Deny.

Be aware of your personal contribution of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere and take responsibility to reduce those emissions. The easiest place to start is with your commute. If you can, try riding your bike to work, take the bus, or start a carpool. At home, minimize your energy usage by turning off the AC when it's not needed, turning off your compter at night, and only using the lights when you need them. While you're at it, change your lightbulbs to longer-lasting fluorescent bulbs. Small changes at home do add up and make a difference. Support bigger greenhouse gas-reducing changes in your community by requesting that your energy company use renewable resources.

The earth has been warming up since the ice age. Sure there is global warming, but there is nothing significant that can be done about it. It is a natural geophysical process that has been exploited as political propaganda.

I agree... Voting Republican is the best way to help Global Warming and ensure that we're completely f*cked as a human race.

There is no such thing. It is a democratic ploy to bash Bush. Thirty years ago the democrats were yelling Ice Age. We are going to have another ice age because the pollution we are putting in the air will create smog and block the sun and we were all going to freeze over in another ice age!!!

Well gloom and doom democrats and gore??? Where the heck is our ice age? Now the same democratic morons are yelling global warming.

In thirty years they'll be yelling ice age again.

VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!

Grind rocks!

Rock powder restores trace nutrients to the soil so the plants can use all the carbon dioxide available.

You wind up with healthy plants, healthy people, AND a balanced atmosphere.

Hey, if we don't do it- Mother Nature will. That's what ice ages are for.

Just sit there, we as humans have pretty big egos to think that we can effect the earth so much for the short time we have been here. ITS CALLED VOLCANOES, and some algaes in the ocean, that cause greenhouse effects.
