I need to take him to the vet but don't have a lot of money and the vet isn't willing on a payment plan. So I want to know how much was the average cost of taking him. I will have to get a loan or something.

Worming generally costs $45-$50...that covers fecal exam and the meds..
check out http://www.carecredit.com/practices/veterinary/
It is a program..credit card..that offers pet care credit with no interest if payments are kept up...You can have up to 18 months to pay..
nearly any one with a steady source of income will qualify and most vets accpt the card..If you fill it out on line, you will know in just a couple of minutes if you quality..Most vet clinics have the forms as well..and can tell you in minutes.

Hey! i just called my vet..He said that he wouldn't charge an office call, but only would apply Revolution to the dogs neck, at a cost of about $15....so, it would pay to call around and see who carries the new product Revolution..They are actually allowed to give the first one free to families that can't afford it.

If you are sure that the dog has worms, then just buy a wormer from a pet store. Panacur has been used by vets for years. It is now otc. It will kill hook, round, and whip.

If the problem is tapeworm, that's the one you can see, then the answer is Praziquantel. It is otc and available at most larger pet stores or online.

If you are thinking about vaccinations, read what the University of Wisconsin has to say....

NOT SURE OF WHERE YOU LIVE BUT IF YOU WILL CALL AROUND AND CHECK I AM SURE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIND A VET THAT WILL WORK OUT SOME KIND OF PAYMENT PLAN WITH YOU. ALSO IF YOU CAN CALL A LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER AND ASK THEM WHAT VET DO THEY USE. REALLY YOUR COST WILL BE BASED ON WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT YOUR DOG HAS ALREADY RECEIVED, LIKE RABIES SHOTS THAT IS A MUST AT MOST VET OFFICES.

I never took mine to the vet. Just mix the tobacco from a cigarette into some canned dog food every day for a few days. It won't hurt the dog, but it'll kill the worms.

You could just bring a sample in of your dog's poop test for worms. the charge for treatment, if they have worms, depends on how large your dog is. I hope you are keeping your dog up to date on his shots. if you are going to have a dog, you really should be able to afford a vet for him too. it's not fair to the dog to skimp on his care.

First of all tabacco is be VERY dangerous to animals!!!!!.... It shouldn't be that expensive. After the office visit and exam they'll probably give him drontal + or panacur. Maybe $ 75.00- $80.00 total. Or you can call your local animal shelter maybe they can worm him for you for a smaller fee or donation.
