It is true that Wellness has changed their production methods. What chetco may not have found out was that it was because the company supposedly had to demolish one of their factories so is paying other companies to produce their foods (found this out from a Wellness distributor). Although I think Wellness is an excellent food, this is just another company showing inconsistencies in their production methods.
Innova Evo is an excellent dog food. Probably the best on the market but it isn't for every dog. Evo is baked and is the the only food that is based on a raw diet but as you said, without the added hassle. I would CERTAINLY recommend trying it. If your dog doesn't do so well (normally this is just gas which is just a human deterant not a sign it is a bad food) then try the regular Innova. It isn't as high in protein so the majority of dogs can tolerate it without added gas.
Like someone else mentioned, most people who understand pet nutrition wouldn't say you HAD to switch from one good food to another. Wellness is good and if your dogs are doing well, then keep them on it. If you want to explore providing them with an even better product, try the Innova.
either way, it's nice to see that you care about your dogs health so much. good luck.

I just talked to customer service at Wellness.. (800-225-0904) Nicole told me that as of last summer, Wellness began a double process, that includes Low-Pressure Extrusion, and then baking. the finished product is proven even more digestible..She said most kibbles are high-pressure extruded, but thier own method only increaed the digestibility of the nutrients.
However, Innova EVO is also an excellent product. I don't belive you can go wrong with either of these.
Since your dogs have been on Wellness since last summer, a year ago, when the changes were made, If they are doing well, I wouldn't see any reason to change.

I do know Innova makes some of the best dog food available. It is one of the brands I sometimes feed. That plus California Natural, Solid Gold, Merrick.

We put our greyhound on Innova EVO when we first got him, and while he liked it (then again, he will eat anything that remotely looks or smells like food), it gave him HELLACIOUS gas. I'm talking about clear-the-room, WMD farts. We switched to Purina Pro Plan and since then the bombs are much less frequent. Good luck!

I tried it, my dogs liked it, but it was a little too rich for one of them. He just did not do well on it. I guess that can be said for any food!!!! If you have been using Wellness and it is working...stick with it. Somethines there is more trouble with switching foods than staying on what they are currently on!!!!
