cats are independant creatures who answer to no one... it is very hard to train a cat to do anything that it doesn't want to do. if it is not soacial, forcing it into social situations can be dangerous, just let it be

I definately diagree with Cindy. Cats are too smart. They are just opinionated and will not do what you want when you want. I have trained some of my cats but it has usually been an accident.
Alley cat will fetch a super ball. She loves to jump way up and catch it and will do it on command. But she just started doing it. Then I made a game of it.
Lovey cat will get in a basket and curl up on command. The first time she got in a basket I made a big deal about it. Now she knows I will tell here she is the "prettiest cat ever in a basket" and will do it every time.
But I did not train them to do it. I just saw what they were doing and made a big deal of it.

cats are very independent. the only way to help to get them more social is to have people over, but if the cat doesn't want to be social, you cant make them. some cats like people and some don't, others only like the people that live there, chances are the more people you have over more often, the cat will get use to people being over and may become more social.

Good Luck with that one. Cats have a mind of their own, and I have found it much simpler to keep the socially inept cat in the bedroom when I have friends over for something special. Now, if it's just watching the football game or a Nascar race, he fits in just fine

Cats aren't going to change personalities. Manners do not have a thing to do with it. It is the personality only. Forcing it to attend social functions isn't too fair, either.

If your cat is an adult cat then all I have to say is, 'Good luck in changing the behavior.' If your cat is a kitten then there is a good chance you can change your cat's behavior. A lot depends on what behavior you are wanting to change.
If you have just one cat then I would recommend getting another cat. It could always help.

you can get more cats give it a chance cats dont think that they are people they are social animals ive seen cats that meow at me alot this also depends how you raise it as a kitten so try it and the cats may fight over what they think is their "territory". so give it a shot!!! :)

Cats are cats, it's part of their charm. Unless you're talking about some specific behavioral problem, such as failing to use the litterbox, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe your cat is just rude.

Spend more effective time with it. often, their approach will advance in route of you, in case you spend time twiddling with it, petting it, and different puppy/proprietor interactions. it truly is especially a lot about it. honestly one of my girlfriends cat's purely likes me even as i'm laying down in mattress. it fairly is really the purely time he will approach me for any type of interplay. If i attempt to start up contact each and every time earlier mattress, he will bolt. the female cat would not have a difficulty with me in any respect, everywhere.
