He has had a second opinion, but he won't do any follow-up and he often has a congested chest. He has never smoked in his life and I don't think it's hereditary. He works 7 days a week, and I'm worried about him.

Well, if he gets treated quickly they may get rid of it, or at least slow it down. If he does nothing about it then it can spread pretty quickly. Untreated lung cancer patience live 8 months on average. Go to my source web site and read about it. Get your boyfriend to go back to the doctor because they can do something about it. It is very serious.

The progression of any type of cancer depends on the person. He should see his doctor. My great grandfather smoked since he was 12. He died of lung cancer almost a year ago, a few days shy of his 74th birthday. He lived with the cancer for about 3 years. If the tumor is contained, the doctors could remove the tumor and chemo/radiation could preventany spread. And yes, lung cancer is hereditary.

It will all depend on the cancer it self. Some ar every fast growing and others grow very slowly. Treatment helps to slow the growth.

If it's only in one lung he needs to have it checked out and fast..there is a good chance they can remove it if he don't put it off too long.

Even the less aggressive are lethal enough. He cannot afford to sit on it. It is like signing your own death cirtificate.
