Kodiak and Sorel are excellent choices. However, you should get a free Cabelas catalog and free Bass Pro catalog and compare boots.

Are you going in winter? Will you be hiking in them for days at a time or just quick "day-hikes"? Will you be hiking across streams and river systems?

I can tell you that a good "water-proof- breathable", leather, winter, boot will cost anywhere from $150-$250.

Don't "skimp" on footwear! Buy the most expensive boot you can (or CANNOT) afford!

There's no jungle in Canada. You need Kodiak or Sorel boots.
