I'm babysitting my sister's bichon (dog) 2 year old female, she howl sometimes' what is she trying to tell me?

She is missing her "pack". She is crying for her owners. Maybe you should pay more attention to her. She is lonely.

most (wolves and pets) howl, or at least can. They can do it for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they do it to communicate distress sya if you or somebody else is hurt, they know it and will howl. Other times they do it because they hear something, lots of dogs will howl to music or ambulances that go by etc. other times they're just really excited, sometimes when our dog was barking for dinner if we took too long hed start to howl

When a dog howls in that long, loud way it's attempting to gather it's pack. That means it's lonely and wants familiar company.

Is she howling at you? Or, just when something happens? Dogs MAY howl when someone is in distress or if an ambulance passes by.

maybe its trying to howl at the moon. Or mabe it just keepsdoing it because you have an unusual scent

She might be excited! or she could be telling you she wants to go out, that shes hungry, or bored.
