Private schools tend to be better than the public ones. Today there are so many public manifestation and most of them have a great influence on education, especially if schools are government ones. Every school has a different system of education and they all have something good to teach and to learn from, but if you don't want your kids to miss classes because of public problems, then go for the private school option... just make sure is a school where they teach the science of life... about God!

I think government schools are in a mess, and the more the government meddles the messier it gets. All these mandates like "No Child Left Behind" usually end up in more children being left behind. I think charter and private school should compete.
The government should get out. The schools which produce students capable of doing college work or of entering a trade(which is just as honorable as we all have different gifts and interests) will succeed and the others will sink naturally.

We pour and pour money into schools and all we get are incredibly beautiful buildings--and worse and worse education.

When considering what school you want your child to attend, you first have to look at the curriculum then the academics levels and also look into the social structure at the school. Then look at what you think would be best for the child and go from there.
However, remember that young people need to have social skills as well as a great education. Not all private schools have that structure which will lead the child to finding out on their own and possibly getting hurt in the process.

I started my loving daughter in a public school and then a Christian school for high school. She received a good education in all the schools she went to. The main reason we sent her to a private Christian was because there were less students per class room. In the public schools there are 36 to 40 per class. In the private there are 24 to 26.
Plus I like the Christian atmosphere at the private school.

I believe it depends on where you are. I believe private and public schools have a lot to offer. I don't think that sending your child to private school will give them an upper hand when applying to colleges and universities.

First and foremost, research the schools near you so you can decide what is right for YOUR child. There are great teachers and there are horrible teachers in both private and public schools. Tour the classrooms and then make your decision.

How about parents that get involved in their children's education no matter what kind of school they go to? Our two oldest children are in a charter school and frankly, the only thing I see different from when they were in public school was that the school holds the parents accountable for their children's actions as well as the child. Granted, it doesn't matter where our children are enrolled, we're active in their education and don't just leave it all to the teacher in the classroom.

Reform the government schools. What about people who can't afford private schools, and charter schools are sometimes lower than public schools.

Private Schools. When my husband and I have kids, they will be attending Catholic schools. It's just up to you and your wife. Going to public school is free, while the private ones can cost a couple thousand of dollars a year.
