Has anyone here ever eaten or watched someone eat limburger cheese? Is it really as gross as they say?

Is limburger even available anymore?

It's not that bad. It smells like gym socks, big deal, just let it air out a bit before eating it. Most cheeses are meant to be eated around room temperature and they are usually more mellow after they've sat for a bit. I've eaten cheeses that were a lot scarier than Limburger, but the smell sometimes is very misleading. Raclette is like that; it smells rotten like a body, but tastes creamy and mild and melted, I hear it's even better.

Yes. My dad,years ago when he was alive and I was a child, ate Limburger Cheese and onion sandwiches...UGH. It was sooo stinky. I found a website you might enjoy regarding the cheese.

Yes, I worked in a steel mill and a lot of the older guys thought it was cute to make us young ones sick occasionally for some sick reason. It smell probably exactly as you have heard. I hear its not bad if you can get past the smell. couldn't tell you cause i could get past the smell. Those guys must have had major sinus issues. Have a good one:-)
