It was my wedding - in Mexico. Most everyone in attendance lives in FL - I did not receive many gifts - not sure if some were lost in the shuffle. I do not expect gifts from anyone - this was not expressed either. But personally I would have sent a gift -

Sometimes, but it's always better to have the gift delivered to the bride & groom's home. Otherwise, it can be such a hassel to juggle luggage and gifts when they are going home. Not to mention that there's the risk of the gift getting lost in the shuffel (imagaine luggage and airports).

Good luck!

We received envelopes from most of the guests at our destination wedding. Others sent gifts to our home either before or after the wedding.

Yes, you should prolly give a gift even if it's a destination wedding. Depending on your geographic location... some tradition says you should bring the actual present to the reception... Since it's a destination wedding, send the present to the bride's place of residence or the parents of the bride prior to the wedding.

By etiquette, the only time that gifts are required is when someone is attending a shower. All other gifts are optional, even wedding gifts.

I had a holiday spot wedding ceremony and human beings nevertheless offered presents. I on no account envisioned something and grew to become into bowled over to receive money from practically everybody. i does not sense obligated if I have been you, to grant a present day. the reality which you're keen to shuttle and spend money doing so might desire to be present adequate.

Sometimes. If the bride and groom are far away on a secluded island somewhere, the gifts are sent to their homes or to their parent's homes.
