i ususally tip 15-20 dollars. but my hair usually costs around 150-200 for a cut and color. my mom doesn't tip when she pays for my hair color though. guys hair cuts arent that expensive.... around here they're about 25-35 bucks. so i say maybe 5 dollars would make her feel good.

Depends on where you go....if you go to a cheap place that are chains like Great Clips 5-8 is acceptable for color and cut tip. If you are going to a place that is more upscale and charges more....I would tip more. When in doubt follow the 15% rule....tip 15% of the total bill. Sometimes the rules are made to be broken though. For example, where I go a cut for me and a trim on my kid's hair is about the same cost as a cut for me. It's very pricey, but they do like five minutes work trimming my son's hair and can cut mine for 45min-1hr because my hair is long. I won't tip the girl 15% for my son's cut, but will tip a lot for my hair because it takes a lot of time.

You tip fifteen to twenty percent of the bill. For example, a $40 hair cut would receive a $6.00 tip,and an $80.00 service would get a $12.00 tip.

I thought American's only tipped in resturants and stuff, but geez, hairdressers? I'd suggest a few dollars though.

We tip nothing over here! £20 is enough, thank you.
