Hello everyone,

I am 14 years old, am a GIRL, and of all the things....

I HAVE A MUSTACHE!!

I'm too embarassed to ask my parents to help me improve my appearance, even though its clearly genetic....

Can anyone suggest good products for facial hair?

I think I'd prefer a wax...cuz I might have sensitive skin...I'm not sure...

I'm pretty sure it's not a hormonal imbalance...I've had this problem since I was 5...

Wax is definitely the way to go. I does hurt unfortunately, but it rips all the hair out of there and it lasts a really long time (up to 4 weeks). The good thing about waxing is that eventually, when used on a regular basis, your hair will begin to grow back thinner and lighter. i suggest using the Veet cold wax strips you can buy at any Wal-Mart or Walgreens. It's a yellow box that includes 10 double sided strips (which basically means that you get 20), and I think three oil-soaked towlettes to wipe away any excess wax and also soothe the area. These are what I used when I first began waxing my upper lip and I can vouch that they do work. Your lip will turn red with irritation that will last for a couple of hours, so I suggest doing it before you go to bed. That way, when you wake up, it's smooth and irritation free. Good luck!

I'd talk with your doctor. There may be hormonal issues. If you've started your period, and have already had a well woman visit (pap smear) then with your next one I'd definitely talk with your gyno. If there are no hormonal imbalances, then laser hair removal may be worth checking into.

waxing and/or plucking works well for me, but I only have the odd stray dark hair here and there.

I really don't think you are sooo hairy as you say, but ok, if you consider it as a problem, go to a beauty salon and wax it. It is not painful at all. it was my first time the other day and it was really ok, not painful at all. In my country it costs around 3 bucks, check prices and good luck.

You could try Nair hair remover, however at 14 it sounds like you have a hormone inbalance. You need to get that checked out by a doctor.

I have that too and I have it waxed. I used to use facial bleach but the hair is still there.

No one is perfect first of all.
I bet your mom has had experience with this and although you don't want to ask her she'd be the best one (or another older family member).
Waxing works but it IS painfull. Bleaching is the another good choice.

ask then to take you to a dermatologist or ask you pcp for a check. If you do not feel comfortable with this then I would try a hair salon, they might be able to wax or bleach it.

well i don't know of any good products to use but maybe you should talk to your parents... My family has the same problem and it is due to hormonal imblance nothing to be scared of, talk to them and see what they suggest you to do.
