It's a group founded by Jerry Falwell that really struck a nerve in American society on both camps.

One, - the backbone of America, rural America, feeling that the country is being overrun by liberal deviants, and that most American are God-fearing believers of right and wrong. Rightly felt that their voice should be heard regarding their own local schools, and television.

Two - the other side labeled the "Moral Majority" as a bunch of Bible thumping fanatics forcing their views on everybody else, -even claiming that they (alone) were "moral" and everybody else was "immoral".

The moral minority refers to the religious right, who believe that they are outnumbered by an immoral majority as prophecied in the Bible. Unfortunately for them, they seem to actually be the majority, which if they believe in the Bible would suggest that they are in fact the immoral ones (since they are the majority of people). Which I believe fully they are the immoral ones (not all Christians, just those that seem to like to step into politics), read the Bible and how it talks about the Pharisees and Saducees and see if you don't see the Christian right of today.

Jesus said be no part of the world as he is no part of the world, well what is politics but the evil world Jesus said be no part of.

Apparently, The "moral majority" seems to be made up of the ignorant and the intolerant. That seems to be the consensus unfortunately? Morality doesn't require intelligence or understanding anymore. Sad isin't it?

"People who perceive themselves to be, or act as, the custodians or representatives of the culture's values, although they may in fact be a small minority of the people, and their views may therefore be given disproportionate emphasis in the news and other media, and in politics and other social decisions made by the government."
