Like tobykeogh and his ridiculous reasoning? Why can't people accept the truth of Christianity?

I HAVE read about evolution and it is so sad that it s not even funny. The Bible has so many proofs to back it up, and evolution doesn't have one.

If a person only believes in part of the Bible then they don't believe in evolution or the Bible. You can't go both ways people! It can only be one.

There is no proof that shows that evolution is true. It is a simple, undeniable fact that millions of people are ignorant to.

I don't pretend to know everything about God and His creation. I know enough to know what is truth and what is not though.

I know this question got alot of people angry, and you know what? That's okay with me. Having Yahoo!answers is a great way to share what you believe in. I just try to tell people the truth and hope that they accept it.

Evolution is a joke, it makes me laugh that people claim that it is a science- no, it is a unproven harebrained theory that has so many holes and gaps... missing link? there are supposed to be thousands of them for evolution to be true... to bad they haven't found any yet...

How did the universe big bang itself into existance a kabillion years ago from nothing?

How did life evolve from non living things?

They just try to think past all of the real problems with evolution and accept it as fact and truth... when it makes no sense... there is no proof of evolution....

Lets set a can of green beens on a table for billions and billions of years, and see if a jolly green giant evolves and pops out of the can...

Many people say that proof that man has evolved is in the hight difference between men of the civil war era and men of today... they were shorter back then...

well that is absolutly stupid, because even evolution itself states that there must be millions of years for something to evolve different attributes...

Then others say that the variation in animals and men accross the world is proof of evolution..

this is again stupid... If I go to Africa and get a dark tan... is that evolution? No, if I have children and over time my posterity have skin of a dark complection is that evolution? NO it is called genetics, they carry the memory of menelin, the pigment in the skin on to the ofspring....

Is the fact that 2 white dogs can have brown and black puppies evolution? NO the dogs possess a genetic code that has a number of different colors and characteristics that they can pass down to the puppies.... nevertheless the puppies are still dogs...

Throughout the world there are many different types of people and animals... but this is not evolution.... this is the result of different ends of the gene pool, regardless of the differences they are still remaining within their own specieces, an orange cannot turn into an apple....

To further explain the gene pool... the ancestors of all the different creatures possessed a vast network of codes within the genes, creating the possibility of multiple differences within each kind of animal... there was no common ancestor... similarites between different animals doesn't mean a common ancestor, no, but a common Creator, God if you will....

Still even with all of the evidence, some people cannot open their own minds to even consider the possibilty of God.... they are blind and ignorant by choice, they blindly follow their insane theory because they just cannot accept the fact that there is a God....

Some people will believe in anything short of insanity than in God... that is sad, even when all scientifical eveidence points to God, they still refuse to believe....

May God open their eyes...

God bless you...

OK, you don't have to believe in evolution--you don't have to believe the earth is round if you don't want to, since clearly science and fact mean nothing to you--but I really don't see how you can call Christianity "truth" and evolution an "unbelievably false thing." Are you kidding? Are you delusional? Or have you just been brainwashed past the point of being able to think? You're calling the Bible "believable"???? Wow.
Yes, I suppose the Bible supports the idea that the earth is round, but it also supports the incorrect idea that the sun revolves around the earth, doesn't it?
The question doesn't make me angry as much as the ignorant attitude behind it.

No; the thought that a few imaginary sky monster simply *schnapping* his finger making stuff is as ludicrous as believing Chris Angel relatively can stroll on water. The factor is, evolution is a undeniable fact that cannot be disputed regardless of how so much the phrase 'idea' throws fundies off the smell. There might come time, within the now not too far-off long term, whilst fundies realise the the research of Nuclear stuff is known as Nuclear Theory and the research of Gravity is known as Gravitational Theory AND the research of Evolution is known as Evolutionary Theory. They MAY come to realise that during THIS case 'idea' does NOT imply 'speculation'. I am thoroughly surprised that with all of the proof helping and pointing to Evolution, fundies discover it simpler to feel that an invisible guy within the sky awoke one morning, felt there used to be some thing lacking in his existence, and determined to begin *schnapping* matters into lifestyles AND then being such an incompetent all-figuring out 'god' determined to flood the location and begin once more. He made us - did not he realize what we might do? Being god - did not he realize the long run? What did he use to make stuff outa? Fundies let us know not anything can come from not anything. Who made the invisible guy? Fundies are so inconsistent with their considering I commonly wonder whether they are able to. ~

Because there are too many gaps and contradictions for some to be able to blindly accept the Christian view of the world.

You say that things like evolution are unbelievably false. Others say that making a boat big enough to hold two of every animal (and enough food to survive a 40-day flood - ever do the math on that? Do you know how much a pair of elephants eat per day?) and then repopulating the earth from those initial pairs (and 8 humans) is unbelievably false.

I accept the TRUTH OF CHRISTIANITY and EVOLUTION. They are not incompatible.

I believe that the Bible is not ALL LITERAL TRUTH but has some myth included. If you research the HISTORY OF THE BIBLE, you will see that it is a product of HISTORICAL ACCIDENT more than God's word. Some of my favorite books of the Bible were banned but can be found in the bookstore such as the Gospel of Nicodemus.

I can not say that I am right on this matter, but please open up your mind to the possiblity that life is not all about the Bible.

Satan

It's his job to make people believe anything but the truth. He's good at his job

update-and just to prove that evolution is not compatible with the Bible:
it says that the the world and the men on it were created perfect. Perfect things do not kill eachother or die, which is obviously necessary for evolution to progress.

btw, there are no facts that are exculsive to evolution or creationism. everybody uses the same facts. evolution interprets them just as religiously as creationists, just the religion is that God does not exist no matter what.

You are unlikely to win the battle of evolution vs. creation here on Yahoo Answers. Why fight it?

What is unbelievably false about evolution? There is more physical evidence for evolution than there is for creation. Surely anyone with an education can realize this.

Why do you make such grandiose statements without backing it up with facts and reasoning?

I'm sure I have more of an idea of the arguments for creationisms than you do for evolution. I bet you have no scientific understanding of evolution, and your best argument is "It's in the bible it must be fact." Why not state your arguments point for point and lets debate it?

I don't think Christianity and evolution have to be exclusive. Why can't evolution be steered by God? We know that the Earth is more than the 6000 years given in biblical history, but that does not mean that God did not put everything in place and guide the evolution of Earth and man into what we are today.

2006-07-25 08:25:40 · answer #9 · answered by norsktjej1964 4 · 0 0

There is an easy solution to this: both are correct. Many Christian denominations including Catholicism believe evolution is correct. Saying evolution has no proof is like saying gravity has no proof. The proof is all around us. There might not be much proof for God, but that is kind of the point. God is something that we can't completely understand and just have to believe in. What's to say God didn't create life and create evolution as a way to make life adapt and change. If you believe God is active in our world today, isn't it possible that God is behind evolution.

So because you believe something it is the truth. It's great you have strong beliefs, I do too, just not the same ones as you. There is no more evidence of your beliefs then mine, yet you call it false, once again just your belief, not a fact. I don't expect you to believe what I do and I would not try to convince you how wrong you are, though there are many good arguments to be made for evolution, some of the above stated some of them. Second what about all those other religions are you saying they must be false? Why?
As for the person above talking about teaching the bible in school as an alternative to evolution, which bible, which religion, which God, yours is not the only one people have a belief in. Maybe in a theology class they could teach the basics of all religions, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, etc, but they don't belong in science where scientific evidence is needed to support them.
