There is an old weight chart from the 60's to the 80's. This one states the low end is like 120, the high is 140. It took into account bone structure. The new chart doesn't, but sometimes it takes into account your age.
The NEW weight chart says 140 is the low, and 160 would be the high.
You use the term "girl", rather than "woman", so I'm guessing you are probably a teen or younger. In that case, the 140 to 160 is appropriate. Teens and younger girls use up calories faster if they participate in any sports or exercise.

There is really no such thing as a best weight for a 5'5 girl.I personally think that it is a preference thing in all actuality.My ideal weight would be around 115-125 lbs.I hope that this was what you were looking for.

It all depends on your body type. Not every girl is the same of course
but the doctor will tell you about 115 to 125 is healthy but even if you are bigger then that don't beat yourself up to loose the weight it all depends on your body. You can always go in or call the doctor and they will be happy to tell you. Then you will know the exact weight for your body.

Don't think in terms of weight. Muscle weighs more then fat. Think of what is a good body fat % to be for someone of your height, weight, age and sex. You could be 115-125 and be all muscle or be mostly fat and it wouldn't matter what you weighed you would think your over weight if its all fat. The average women is 5' 4" and weighs 140 pounds.
read that in a book. So what probably 145.
Isn't it 5 pounds for each inch?
