ok, i can't play MPEG files, but i CAN. You see, it happened less than a week ago, i mean i downloaded a movie file and it worked perfectly fine. FEW DAYS LATER, the WMP says it has encoutnered an unknown error and won't play any MPEG files. But ironically, i opened the movies from Yahoo! Video by searching MPEG type only, and it played JUST FINE. So i thought there must be some sort of codec issue and i just Save as the movie file. AND GUESS WHAT! THE DOWNLOADED FILE WON'T PLAY!!! WHAT THE ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try your systems repair. If that doesn't work, try removing the app. then reinstall.
If nothing else works and you have no virus or malware, contact your system support and see if they have a solution for you.

i would uninstall and reinstall WMP
just go online and redownload it. its a pain but it sounds like your WMP became corrupt somehow.
