This was on a document upon entering the U.S., then you should have asked them right there. I'm sure they would have helped you.

i wouldn't be so concerned with some agent writing something on your paper You got in my beloved country OK and that's what matters DON'T stress out if there was a problem you would have not set foot in our beloved land that everyone envy's
