What dopes. (Not the asker - the other answerers)

First you research and apply to the schools you are interested in. Once you get your acceptances, choose the one you want to attend and ask them for a form I-20. With that, your passport, a couple of application forms and your fee payment, you make an appointment for an interview at the nearest US embassy or consulate.

More than you will ever need to know can be found at the site below:

You research and find out programs you're interested in. Then you apply to the school. If you are accepted, the school will need proof of financial support for the first year, which is either scholarships or grants, or your own funds. Once you provide that, the school will issue an I-20.
With the I-20, you then have to pay the SEVIS fee, which is for the department of homeland security identification system (or something like that). Once you have that, you're ready to go to the US embassy for your visa interview. The forms you need to fill out are available at the embassy, and you can get the information about fees there as well.

Your best bet is to approach some US universities directly.

Go on some websites, send a few emails and ask what visa assistance they can offer. If they want you, if you're clever enough, and if you can afford the tuition fees, they will probably help you.

It's worth bearing in mind though that tuition fees for US universities are much, much higher than here in the UK.

That said, Boston is a fantastic student town (like Leeds, Manchester, Belfast etc) and has many universities.

Go to the american embassy, wait for 6 hours, get interviewed, tell them your not a commie or iranian or iraqui or afghan or muslim, go home and wait for them to tell you you cant go because your great great grandfather was linked to a fundamentalist group in colombia in the 1880s! Good luck.
Ps If you can play basketball or baseball VERY well you may have a shot.
