memere gave a bad response-although she is correct about the ingredients being the same, you should stay away from Benedryl and anything with the same ingredients, because although they will make you sleep, they have heavy residual affects, that last a long time for most people, and they are NOT natural. Melatonin is the only natural sleep aid that sometimes helps me, but you need to get a very low doesage of it, so it will not give you residual affects as well. I have tried alot of other over the counter sleep aids, without much luck, so to be honest- you will more thank likely be wasting your money on trying any others.

The only ones I would recommend would be a natural herbal remedy that you can certainly buy over the counter from any natural health food shop or large pharmacy.
Avoid drinking, tea coffee or alcohol 2-3 hours before retiring, and try the old fashioned remedy of a warm milky drink.
Try a few drops of lavendar essential oil in a nice warm bath.
Listen to some relaxing music.
Often reading a book that is easy to read and not something that is complex can help.
Basically you need to do things that will take your mind off your work or anything that is causing you stress.
You can also try self-hypnosis it really does work

The only over the counter sleep aids available are things like Sominex and Tylenol PM. The main ingredient is Benedryl (an antihistamine.)
As long as you aren't allergic to Benedryl, try it. You can't get addicted to it. Just make sure you don't take more than the recommended dose or it will make you hyper.

Alka-Seltzer Night Time Sleep will knock you too your kneez.
I used to use them, especially the NIght Time Cold ones. I asked my Doctor and he said they were great for you because they were not addicting like the over the counter ones, but dang I went to sleep.
Also, there are some in a bottle, (sleeping pills) and these work. The only ones you need to worry about are the prescription ones. These have ingredients that will "hook" you.

either 2 benadryl OR 2 Tylenol pm works for me...but too those are habit forming and when I take them two or three days in a row they seem to NOT work as well...ur body gets used to them...
something else may work better for you such as:
hot bath/ shower before bed time, no caffeine before bedtime, IF u are 21 or over a cooler or beer may help to unwind u..like 1...I would not say more then that..we got enough drunks out there..some say reading in bed like 20 mins er so right before ya turn out the light helps...exercise is a good one, it helps ya work off some stress, energy and a few pounds at the same time...
really just have to try a few things to see what works for ya...may be better to alternate them out so your body doesn't get use to one thing or another..hope ya find what works!

Tylenol PM or even the off brand kind, but try to only take it when you need it for work. If you take it about a half an hour before you want to sleep, then it should pretty much knock you out, but you don't wake up feeling all drugged.
