What do the minutemen do at the border anyway???

Do they just sit there on their chair, reading the newspaper? Wow, talk about hard volunteer work, sounds extremely tiring.

Since they have so much free time on their hands, why don't they work in a soup kitchen? They can at least clean up highways. I don't understand, there's already the National Guard.

The Minuteman Project Civil Defense Corps was started in April 2005 by a group of American citizens to deter illegal crossings of the United States–Mexico border. Their stated mission is to stop the flow of illegal immigration by monitoring the border and alerting the United States Border Patrol to the presence of unauthorized crossers. In addition to physically holding vigil over the border, they engage in political protest and other forms of activism. President George W. Bush has referred to the Minutemen as vigilantes.[1]

The Project has expanded to include the United States-Canada border as well. [2] The name comes from the minutemen who fought in the American Revolution. The group's principal director is Jim Gilchrist, with Chris Simcox serving as spokesman. It describes itself as "a citizens' Neighborhood Watch on our border".

House ***? perhaps....EDIT - I was responding to your answer to a question posed by someone regarding reparations...I knew this comment would evoke emotion, hopefully, enough for you to think critically about what you've said. Firstly, i'm white but I took a class in college where this very issue was deconstructed and what we found was that, aside from black people's burning desire to fit and and not offend whites in any way, blacks ARE legitimately deserving of reparations (which, as I hope you know, can be things other than money).

If you would take time out to research instead of trying to prove to the white man that you're not the *** that he used/and still does in some cases think you are, you'd find that there are several factors that support blacks TODAY. The easiest for you to grasp is a concept called Generational Poverty (look it up). I'll leave that for your homework assignment.

You should be more compassionate to your race. After all, it IS what you are. You shouldn't forget the atrocities that were committed to you ancestors just as Jews should never forget the Holocaust. It's OK to be black (in a white man's world) and still be true to your race. White people won't hate you and think you're annoying. Maybe the ignorant ones. Everyone should be proud of who they are. Even you.

you havent been paying attention apparently, even the united states DEA, gives the minutemen credit for stopping up to 20% of illegal drugs coming into america among helping to stop illegal immigration the minutemen are doing a fine job and are growing bigger with each and everyday they have the majority of americas support they arent sitting on their butts like you apparently are watching this country go down the toilet they are standing up and getting out there doing something about this INVASION of America and have my full support in anyway i can, i only wish i were closer to the border to help more, before its over with i just might move to that area so i can help protect my country

These are the descendents that eradicated Indian Civilization and its Culture. Its in their blood to be pricks. They chastise the border crossers. But when they find an assimilated mexican , they believe their job is done. And they move on to f_ck someone else over with their chair sitting.

They probably spend all day eating tacos from across the border and drinking tecate(spanish beer).Then after they eat their fill,they try to arrest or shoot the same people they bought their food from when the people try to cross back into mexico after selling to them.That sounds about as crazy and fu**ed up they are.

Actually, they provide a needed service. They have tables set up at the most popular illegal crossings and offer water, coffee, donuts and breakfast tacos to all the illegal aliens they encounter... this is a truly humanitarian effort and they should be commended.

Their point is to make a point about border security. They don't aim to necessarily be effective. Not saying I agree, but I'm saying that's their point.
