I was just watching the news, and it was about cloramine being used to treat our tap water. It's unsafe for fish and reptiles. Well, what about cats and dogs?

In the amounts they drink, it will not harm them, but if you use bottled water, it would be no effort to pour some for them as well.

Our cats drink the same water we do- And we've stored water with a few drops of bleach against the next hurricane that hits the area (anyone else remember Hurricane Isabelle?). In the miniscule quantities of chlorine that are usually present, there should be no problem.

I hope it is safe, because my cat has been drinking it for 13 years and my dog for 3! Yes, it is ok for cats and dogs.

I only give my animals filtered water or bottled water. WalMart sells drinking water for something like 56 cents a gallon. I also use this water in my aquarium and have very healthy pets.

Not on a regular basis. Our dog only likes the soft treats - not the biscuit ones like Milkbones; the cats have stolen the treats at times when our Lab is playing the "find it" game in the house.

If chlorine weren't safe for cats, dogs and people, they wouldn't be putting it in the water and people wouldn't've been giving it to their pets for decades. It's the same stuff you've been drinking your whole life.

Animals have been drinking Tap Water for years. If you are not comfortable with that purchase bottled water for them.

Pretty much, there is a small amount of chlorine in everyone's tap water. I don't think it is harmful in the small amounts you find in tap water.
