How do they take braces off? just rip them off your teeth? does it hurt? can your teeth break when they are taking them off if you have weak teeth? just wondering.

No, they do not hurt. I am an Orthodontist, so I do know what I am talking of. We hold the brace with a plier (pin cutter) and squeeze the bottom. This removes the brace off the tooth. Then we use a hand piece (some thing the dentist uses to drill the tooth) to remove glue. This is followed by impressions for retainers, photos and X-rays. I just took off braces for 4 patients today and nobody complained. Either chick9182736 has no clue what is talking about or she saw a General Dentist who does braces. Just ignore her comments.

Generally speaking, putting the braces on your teeth does not hurt. However, it will take your mouth a few days to become accustomed to all the new "stuff". Your teeth may be sore for a couple of days after getting your braces. This soreness usually goes away after a couple of days.
