What you are feeling is normal. All veterinarians have to warn the owner of the risks of the surgery and the anesthesia. Being human we tend to focus on our fears. This is one of the most common surgeries a vet does. And one of the least risky. I have had it done to every dog and cat that I have owned (I'm 54--that's a lot of pets).
I have never lost any of my beloved companions to a neutering.
Puppy will be sleepy, but happy to see you before you know it. Set your fears aside and think of all the wonderful times you have had and will have with boy dog. It is impossible to be miserable and fearful when counting your blessings.

What do you mean might not come back? That he may not come out of the meds given to put him under? Yes, they make you sign this understanding that you won't hold the vet responsible for this but if your dog is healthy there is no need to worry.
Within the last year I have assisted in the spaying and neutering of over 700 dogs and 400 cats and never ONCE has any animal not "come back".
Your dog does not understand what's about to happen. He won't even know he's "different" when it's finished. Expect him to be a little lazy for a few days, maybe even appear to be depressed. But that's just the meds wearing off. By this time next week he'll be rambunctious and as loveable as he was yesterday.
Good luck, relax and be happy you've done the right thing!!!

No do not be scared. Neutering is a very safe easy and fast operation.
You pet will be fine. He may be a little groggy for a day or so and you will have to keep him quiet and not let him run about or jump but after a few days he will be fine and you will have a better pet.

The key word is "trust". There are times when we must put our trust in someone that we do not know real well; as Doctors, Vets, etc. Please trust that your Vet is a wonderful, kind, and considerate person. You Vet will do everything for your pet in order to keep him healthy during this procedure.
Being scared is a natural feeling; but you need to learn to trust that your Vet will send your pet back home healthy and happy . Neutering your pet is a good thing. Everyone will be happier for your wise decision to help stop unwanted , stray pets wonder without someone to love them like you love your pet.

No.. no reason to be scarred.. The poor doggie will be sore for a few days but no problem.. I congratulate you for having the dog neutered. I wish more people would do that in order to save the explosion of too many dogs in the world and thus many ares cruely treated.

There is no reason at all to be scared of that. The people that are performing the operation are perfessionals unless you are letting a friend do it, that would be kinda crazy. my dog was neutered and he was just fine in fact i like him a whole lot more now that he's neutered.
Rest assure your dog will be just fine.

Very routine and you have nothing to worry about. When it comes to males the procedure is a snap very little risk involved. When it comes to Spaying female animals the risk climbs a little but not even enough to be concerned. There is nothing to it and after a few days he will be back to normal.
Take a deep breath!

This is a procedure that happens every day, he will be fine. Just remember, you are doing a good thing by having him neutered. He will be less aggressive and won't wander.
