My wife needs surgery, my insurance will not cover the surgery. I am 26 years old, I work 60 hours a week, but barely cover the rent, and car. We have 2 children, and I don't know where to turn. My parents have loaned us what they could, but banks won't touch me because of my debt to income ratio. I can't sell my car because I owe more than it's worth, so please advise me.

My insurance will not cover it. No not for plastic surgery either. Breast cancer. I work 60 hours a week, and barely cover bills. We have 2 children, and she is a full time student. My parents have loaned me some money-all they could afford, but insurance is calling this a pre-existing condition before my insurance started. Please give good advise.

I am sorry to hear that the insurance won't cover what your wife needs it for. That is what sucks about insurance. I have had the same situation happen to me but with my feet. What you can do is tell the doctors that you don't have insurance but she needs this surgery. Tell them you are willing to work out payments even if it is as low as five dollars a month. When you go to the hospital ask fo the Hill Burton form. You fill it out and if you are eliglible they will take care of all expenses.

Hope everything goes well and hope this information helps.

no easy answer im afraid - look to moving to a cheaper rented apartment - look for another job, with higher income,
would the parents perhaps - be able to look after the children for a while - so u could get say a one bedroom apartment - cheaper, cuts costs to minimum, and then once your wife has had surgery and things look brighter you can look to getting a place for room for the kids again. still sell the car, even if u dont make much - every penny could count - and u'll save in long run on gas money. very very hard situation. my deepest love and best wishes for your family.

What kind of surgery? If your insurance doesn't cover it then it's not a medical condition is it?? If it's not a medical condition is it plastic surgery? If it's plastic surgery what's the point? It's elective and when you save enough money, then do whatever it is you want.

sorry to hear that but as a banker they wouldn't loan out to you because you are barely making it as is which mean you won't be able to pay them back. if its a life or death thing it should be cover by your insurance if its not a life or death why the hell is she doing it. then I would say sell the wife ; ) lol .

You can hold a fundraiser.
You can put collection cans at the local grocery store, gas station etc.
You can stand in front of a grocery store and ask people to donate their spare change.
You can go to you local community health clinic or family services and see what they can do to help.
You can go to your church and see if they will help or make a collection for her.
Talk to the hospital and doctors and see if they will take small monthly payments.

Apply for Medicaid, or ask Healthcare for the Homeless for help or referrals to someone who can help. If she really needs surgery for a bona fide medical reason, you will be able to find someone to financially help her get it. If it's an elective surgery, she'll probably just have to wait, unfortunately.

maximum coverage firms will conceal it merely as they could the different surgical treatment if your doctor deems it "medically mandatory". in case you're obese, you would be able to could lose some weight in the past you're eligible. The coverage firms determine that in case you're obese, in case you lose some weight, you would be able to lose some breast weight additionally and which you will no longer choose the surgical treatment. communicate to your doctor approximately it, then your coverage employer.
