Do you give more attention to students you like? Do you actually notice when a student gives effort but not nessessarily gets good grades?

Yes, but I would never give that student more attention or give them any indication that they were my favorite. My favorite students are actually the ones who give good effort with poor grades. I guess I just root for them more and want their grades to be as great as their effort.

Yes, I give a little more attention to the ones that follow directions. Yes I notice when someone give an extra effort or try to do better things.
But the most of my attention are the ones that need my attention.

Yes, we do have students we like and enjoy having in class more than others. We like those that pay attention, demonstrate respect, do what we ask, go that extra mile, etc.

But we do NOT show favortism towards them! We may personally enjoy having them in our class, but we teach to everyone, and grade everyone the same.
