You are doing the best thing he will soon get used to his new surroundings. Try putting a clock in his basket under his covers it may help him to settle down and go to sleep as the ticking of the clock is supposed to simulate his mothers heartbeat, which reminds him of snuggling up to go to sleep with his mum and his brothers and sisters. It worked when I got my puppy the breeder recomended it if the dog was restless and not sleeping. Hope this helps.

I had a friend whose puppy did this and she moved it into her room at night (still in a kennel) and she stopped. All she wanted to do was to see her and know someone was there. If you just got him he may be still getting used to not being with other puppies or dogs...or humans all the time. Make sure he has something soft to sleep on, water and toys. It takes time. They will learn that you are there for them even if you arent in the room.

My puppy sleeps in a dog crate next to my bed. This way she is safe and can't chew on anything, and I get sleep because she knows I am right there. When she is housetrained and I can trust her not to get into anything dangerous, I will put her dog bed at the foot of my bed and she can sleep there at night.

He maybe lonely and scared. He is making the transition from his Momma. Make him a comfy spot, buy a teddy and put a wind up clock in it along with a hot water bottle. This should feel warm and cozy like the times he spent with his mother. In a short time he will no longer need it. And you will get your sleep again.

My dog used to do that, but I just let her sleep in the bed with me and she's fine. Just give the pup plenty of water and space to pee and have him in his kennel during the day so he gets used to it and he likes it. Then he will feel comfortable.

I would recommend turning a radio on low and maybe giving him a warm water bottle (makes them feel like they are back with the litter).

I think you are right to keep ignoring him - any attention is good attention to a puppy.
Next time you go to bed, wait until he finally stops whining, and reward him with a treat for stopping. Hopefully that will help.

He is only crying becuase he wants to be with you. Anytime they cry when they are not around you it means that your dog just wants to be with the rest of its pack. I bet if you let him sleep with you at night he would not do that. But if you do not want your dog to sleep with you, then you just need to ignore it. Your dog will get over it soon.

Give him a soft, warm blanky with your scent on it, also put a tv or radio in there for him, turned down low. Puppy!
