There is a song on the Eagles "Hotel California" album called "Wasted Time." Dan Fogelberg also has an album called "Exiles" that is nothing but depressing "break up" music. It's perfect! Between those and some old Barry Manilow and Carpenter's tunes, I logged a lot of hours in the "break up" mode. HOWEVER, don't stay in that dark place. Call a friend and get out! There's nothing better than some girl time with great friends to get over a guy.
Good luck to you. Don't wallow in self pity for too long. You might miss a new opportunity!

YOu should give yourself a maxuimum of 3 days for feeling bad for yourself after that you better get out there and live it up, why waster your time feeling bad when you can be happy and out with your girls? But a song that helps me is We belong together by Mariah Carey, Dont Forget About us my mariah carey is good too, And try Invisble by Ashlee Simpson but when you get better listen to Puplic Affair by Jessica Simpson, her and nick just broke up but as you can see shes not worried about it

The greatest song to listen to after a break up is totally "and so it goes" by Billy Joel The lyrics are fantastic listen to the song over and over until you understand them completely.

Could've Been...
Could've been
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The flowers you gave me
Are just about to die
When I think about
What could've been
It makes me want to cry
The sweet words you whispered
Didn't mean a thing
I guess our song is over
As we begin to sing
Could've been so beautiful
Could've been so right
Could've been my lover
Every day of my life
Could've been so beautiful
Could've been so right
I'll never hold what could've been
On a cold and lonely night
The members of our lovin'
Still linger in the air
Like the faded scent of your roses
They stay with me everywhere
Everytime I get my hopes up
They always seem to fall
Still what could've been is better than
What could neveRepeat chor be at all
Could've been so beautiful
Could've been so right
Could've been my lover
Every day of my life
Could've been so beautiful
Could've been so right
I'll never hold what could've been
On a cold and lonely night
How could I hold what could've been
On a cold and lonely night?

Do not listen to sad songs and feel depressed.
Play I Will Survive instead and do it.
