If you want a date and time, sorry, can't help you. But they'd better not be brought home till the job is finished, otherwise we'll just have to go back within a generation and start all over. The job is to have a native military in place that will protect Iraqi national interests and infrastructure, one that will work with the U.S. to prevent terrorist activity directed at us and Israel not to mention the myriad of other countries that have been targeted. Examples include England, Spain, France, Canada, etc,

Hey Desi_nerd, you called that one right!!!!
Too bad the soldiers over there aren't getting part of the oil revenues for everything they've sacrificed.
I saw a cartoon...it said Mission Accomplicated (you know one of those made-up words) - sounds about right!
The concept of eliminating terrorism is a necessary one, but I don't think we have the person yet who can actually do the job strategically. In the meantime the troop levels are undermanned, yet those oil/defense cos. keep bringing home the bacon. Sad Commentary on how things operate these days.

Probably never, at least not for the forseeable future. I mean, we still have bases in Germany and Okinawa, more than 61 years after the end of the Second World War. As for when stability will come to Iraq, I have no idea, but I wouldn't bet on any time in the near future.

As soon as the job is complete.
As far as to when that will be we don't know.
A lot of people (John Kerry) like to think that if they were President they would bring everyone home right now. However, that couldn't happen the way everyone thinks. We couldn't just all of the sudden bring everyone home today. Also, it really wouldn't be right to up and leave these Iraqis after all they have been through.

When Hell freezes over or when Bush's IQ rises above his shoe size. Until then, the troops will always be there as they are still in Cuba, Europe, Japan, Korea, Afghanistan and etc.

the us gov't will pull out troops when the us no longer has reason to fear violent conflict in regions where 1) its oil interests are located and 2) a stable foreign government exists that is willing to cooperate with the us's philosophy of capital.
